7th and 8th Grade Art

We began the year with our traditional observational drawing, but switched up the subject matter by drawing flowers from our beautiful Learning Garden. The same objective was achieved; slow down, look at what you are drawing, add details and information to inform the viewer what you are observing. The pieces are hanging in various places around the school. 

We are currently on our 2nd week of our long term still-life project. The students set up their own individual still life and photographed the set up. They are working in various mediums and are applying the observational skills to their work. This is the work that will be entered in the annual Scholastic Art Award competition in December.
